14 June 2007 - Comic #122

In case you don't understand the reference: Tarrin's Spirou et Fantasio is said to bear a close resemblance to the drawing style of Belgian comics artist André Franquin who worked on the series from 1947 to 1969.

Very convenient that the saying "Don't sell the skin till you have shot the bear." exists both in French and English. ^^

31 May 2007 - Comic #115

Cap d'Agde is part of the town of Agde at the Mediterranean sea. It is known for its large family-style naturist resort, Village Naturiste. It is a self-contained town where nudity is legal and common in the whole resort.

This comic was also printed on page 105 of Journal intime d'un Lémurien.

"Click on the picture to visit the Blog of my buddy Fred
who is never depressed EVER!
(Even though he lives in Besançon where it rains 300 days a year.)"

This one was printed in  Charlotte Gainsbourg mon amour on page 112.

Sorry, I know clicking on the pic doesn't actually work. I just added it for completion's sake. I assume the original pic was linked to a video of Fred Neidhardt doing an impression of Vincent Delerm. However, that link is dead now.
The character in the top left corner is Fred's wife Yuko, btw. (Yes, she's from Japan.)

This comic was also printed on page 104 of Journal intime d'un Lémurien.

A bit of background info on this one: In 2005 Tarrin started to work on his own Spirou et Fantasio book together with comic creator Yann (le Pennetier). After two and a half years they finally finished Spirou et Fantasio: Le Tombeau des Champignac.

Also, Tarrin was planning to appear on a French hidden camera television show together with his friend Fred Neidhardt. He posted the details about that on his blog starting August 2007. (I'll post the translations here starting 6 December 2011.) Most of the comics about this were also printed in his book Charlotte Gainsbourg mon amour.

According to Tarrin this really happened. However, he modified the ending.
The white duck is Cyril's mother. Fanny is Cyril's sister.

This comic was also printed on page 111-112 of Journal intime d'un Lémurien.

So Tarrin planned a fan meeting at Jardins du Trocadéro in Paris. At the picnic someone took pictures and Tarrin commented on them. I'll post them along with another comic and the translations of his comments in tomorrow's entry.
