5 March 2007 - Comic #67

Background info: Many old cities in France have car free areas. In Montpellier the old town is mostly car free nowadays with limited car access for residents. And between 10 o'clock at night and 6 o'clock in the morning, you can't get into these areas at all by car because they put up these little barriers with the yellow stripes.

This comic was also printed on page 9 of Journal intime d'un Lémurien.

3 March 2007 - Comic #66

Some info about Millau Viaduct that might help you to understand this comic a bit better: The Millau Viaduct is a very high, 2.4km long bridge that spans the valley of the river Tarn near the town of Millau. It is part of the A75-A71 autoroute axis from Paris to Montpellier. If you want to drive across the Viaduct or go to Millau, you have to pay a road toll.
In the comic Tarrin is fed up that even though they paid the toll (which was around €4.90 at that time), they couldn't drive across the impressive bridge but had to drive down into the valley to Millau instead to find a gas station.

This comic was also printed on page 8 of Journal intime d'un Lémurien.

So Tarrin moved from Clichy to Montpellier in February 2006 and one year later he drew a comic about it. This is gonna be quite a lengthy one, consisting of 20 pages.

This comic was also printed on page 1-2 of Journal intime d'un Lémurien.

Like it says under the photo, Monsieur Bitos is a French singer (click here to see a video of him).
Rilettes is a dish similar to pâté. It's very fatty and salty.

This is the final version of that comic. However Tarrin also posted the first version he drew:

A mix of both versions was also printed on page 52 of Journal intime d'un Lémurien.

Wow, like father, like son, eh? I love the clown painting in the first panel.

The R.G. mentioned in the second panel stands for "Direction centrale des renseignements généraux", the French version of the CIA. It was merged with the Direction de la surveillance du territoire into the new Direction centrale du renseignement intérieur on July 1, 2008.

This comic was also printed on page 51 of Journal intime d'un Lémurien.

Along with this comic Tarrin also posted a pic of mushrooms in an apartment. He doesn't say whether this is actually Cyril's place or not though.

This comic was also printed on page 55 of Journal intime d'un Lémurien.

Okay, I'm not sure if this is part of the joke or if Tarrin just messed this one up, but Lolita is not the daughter of Jean-Luc Lahaye. Her father is the popular French singer Renaud.
Anyway, she posted an entry about Tarrin on sblorf.com. It's written as if Lolita is telling a psychologist about her feelings regarding Tarrin. Tarrin quoted some parts from it out of context, which is why it sounds so negative. Her original blog entry has more of a love-hate relationship feel to it.
